THE CHALLENGE | The electrical installation of one of the largest wind farms RJE had undertaken, including five fully equipped outdoor substations. RJE were also contracted to do all the MV cabling works to each wind turbine in challenging topographical conditions.

RJE designed and installed 70kms of trench using a T755 Vermeer Chain Trencher. Laying 105kms of 11kV 3C XLPE/HDPE, 70mm2 1C bare earth conductor and 105kms of 12C Single and multi-mode fibre cabling into the trenches. RJE employees self-performed all the 11kV cable and fibre optic cable terminations and joints with company owned specialised equipment and tools.

RJE designed, installed and commissioned the five outdoor substations and the associated switch rooms. Design, engineering and installation for HV, earthing and communications reticulation, including the outdoor HV substations and switch rooms. Installation of all HV cabling, earthing and fibre optic cabling communications reticulation. Supply and installation of all 11kV cable termination and joint accessories along with all fibre optic cable termination and joint accessories.
