PNG 66kV and Fuel Delivery Skids

THE CHALLENGE | Design and construct two prefabricated galvanised steel HV skids measuring 6500 x 3500mm and 8500 x 3500 approximately.

These skids were used as 66kV Distribution Bays associated with a GE TM2500 Gas Turbine Power Stations. All the electrical equipment used was outdoor AIS switchgear supplied by ABB and Siemens. Each skid contained a skid marshalling box where all the indication & control wiring from the CB’s, disconnects etc. was wired. This allowed the skids to arrive at site pre-wired and tested to the interface point which is the marshalling box on each skid.

Four prefabricated Fuel Pump skids were also constructed in stainless steel. These skids were used as duty/standby pump systems for fuel delivery to the GE TM2500s and incorporated control PLCs, instrumentation and VSDs. All skids were manufactured, erected, wired and tested in our Lonsdale facility – this allowed clients to visit and witness FATs and pre-commissioning activities. All testing was done to the relevant AS standards.
