THE CHALLENGE | Design and manufacture 2 x new Diesel Generators, Pre-commissioned off-site and deliver and install to Pacific Islands to upgrade existing power station to maintain a reliable power source for the Island.
Existing Diesel Power Generators that power the island were coming to the end of their life cycle, RJE Global was selected to deliver the Power station upgrade project, based on our Distributorship with GE Transportation for the Medium Speed Diesel engines and previous experience in delivering projects to remote sites across the globe. The Project involves the design and construction of 2 x new enclosed GE 12V228 Diesel engines to form a 13.8KV 60Hz 2MW generation set, complete with all balance of plant to operate, a switchroom for MV distribution and control, relocation and reconfi guration of existing generators and control modules, and software to allow the client to integrate into the power plant until the current engines are fully retired out of service.
The new Generators and switch room will be connected and pre-commissioned off -site and client Factory Acceptance Tested (FAT) before transport to keep site hours to a minimum, the new site will assist with maintaining a reliable power source for the villages on the islands.
